September 07 Sales Number

NBD's sales number for the month of September is out. 360 beat Wii for the first time in many month.

1. Xbox 360: 527,800
2. Wii: 501,000
3. Nintendo DS: 495,800
4. PlayStation Portable: 284,500
5. PlayStation 2: 215,000
6. PlayStation 3: 119,400
7. Game Boy Advance: 75,000

On the game sales front.

1. Halo 3 (all versions)--Xbox 360:3.3 million
2. Wii Play with Wii Remote--Wii:282,000
3. The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass--DS:224,000
4. Madden NFL 08--PS2:205,000
5. Skate--Xbox 360--175,000
6. Madden NFL 08--Xbox 360:173,000
7. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption--Wii:167,000
8. BioShock--Xbox 360:150,000
9. Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day--DS:141,000
10. Heavenly Sword--PS3:139,000

Halo wasn't broken down into 3 editions. If it was counted that way. Halo 3 would've been the top 3 spots. In fact, the $129 Halo 3 legendary edition sold over twice as many copies as the PS3's only entry, Heavenly Sword. Prompted one of the analyst's joke on "Clearly, the helmet is mightier than the sword."

Something else that's also hard to see from this chart is, the revenue of the 360 games sales accounts for 74% of the total game sales across all platforms. Continue to support the "360 owners buy lots of games." theory.
